Please help. I want a new hog gun. Im driving myself crazy doing all the research online.

Here are the details

I have an AMG Rattler t25 thermal.

I need a long rifle that doesn’t necessarily need to be AR platform but I’d like it to be quiet enough to give me a solid shot at a second pig and I’d like it to be very accurate.

Budget is $1,200 up front or $1,800 over time by ordering piece by piece (to spare me grief from wife)

My typical shots are under 50 yards as we creep on them at night. But some fields I might have to shoot up to 125 yards

I have a death grip tripod but it doesn’t stand up as tall as I’d like. So I might look at a different model/brand.

Right now I have a cheap PSA Carbine 5.56 with a 16” nitride barrel. So I do have a decent lower I could use. I have ambi safety and a radian raptor ambi charging handle. Factory trigger. This gun is fine but I want something better. And it has to look cool. Because looking cool is a big deal.

TIA

I have a Wilson combat 6.8 SPC with a Thermion 2 XP50 and a carbon fiber death grip for my hog gun. I love everything about the setup except I wish I had a little more arse than the 6.8.

My coyote and bobcat gun is a Radian AR

You can dial an AR very tight. Mine hits dimes at 100yds.
Fittied with the Specter cat white bread TI.

You will make a huge leap in accuracy with a good trigger. Mine is a trigger tech. I love them. Have 5-6 or more of them.

ETA: you don’t have to have a Radian. It’s just what I’m using.

One more edit because I forgot: mine is a .223 wylde. Sea pickle who is basically a professional uses 5.56/.223.

300 Blackout. 12 inch barrel. Adding more inches to a 300 blackout does nothing. Throw a suppressor on it, even a cheap one and subsonics and you can shoot hogs all night without them being run off.

With only shooting 125 yds, I’d also recommend .300blk.

You can save money by buying blemished parts. 95% of the time you’d never know they were blemished. I have blemished upper receiver, lower receiver, handguard, and buttstock from BCM on my hog build. Easily saved 50% to put it towards the more important parts.

Big fan on an Odin works barrel. Great bang for your buck IMO.

Get you a good trigger

silencerco scythe to finish it out

300 blk out bullets are expensive baw

Get a ks47 from psa. Get some 762x39 ammo from psa too.

Its light & does a great job on pigs. Not expensive either.

subsonics and you can shoot hogs

At subsonic speeds, is .300 blk enough for hogs? I know they are tough bastards. And at subsonic loads, it's about the same energy as a supersonic 9mm if I recall. It'll draw blood and kill, but is it as efficient as what we'd typically require out of a load for hunting.

I’m using a Bear creek arsenal side charging 6.5 Grendel, 18”stainless barrel, Deadair Nomad L suppressor, and Hornady SST’s 123gr. On both My thermals and Night vision, these AR’s are very accurate, was quite surprised at the cycling with the suppressors( no adjustable block) and the extreme accuracy for the price. Weight has been the only drawback once you have scope and accessories. Accuracy is impressive for the price, and isn’t an issue. I will say, it will put them down with shot placement, but normal broadside shots on bigger hogs, you will have to track about 50 yards, which isn’t a problem with my 308, but just enjoy that Grendel, light recoil, and easier follow up shots..
