Grand Cayman - Family trip

The wife is looking at 5-7 days in Grand Cayman. We have some adventurous kids 9-14, but I don’t mind sitting by the pool/beach with a drink. Any restaurants, or places to go that would be can’t miss? Or condos and locations?

Go swimming with the sting rays in Sting Ray City.
And eat plenty Tortuga rum cake.

Rum Point area is really nice, that’s where we have always stayed. Tukka, Kaibo and Over the Edge are a few of my favorite places to eat on that side of island. Silver Thatch for boat day or fishing trip.

Sunshine Grill is a very good place to eat. Rackams in town is also good.

Kimpton Sea Fire and the Ritz are the premier hotels.
My vote with kids is the Kimpton. They offer lots of kid friendly activities. E.g. movie nights by the beach, balloon making, etc etc. The hotel service is top notch. On par with any 5 star staff. The he ritz was hit or miss last time.
Also, Cocoloba is a nice “reasonably” priced beachside Mexican restaurant's right out front with toes in the sand/sunset views. The in-house fine dining restaurant is also one of the best on the island.
Bioluminescence plankton tours are top notch most of the year in grand cayman. Very cool experience for ~$600 for family of four.
The turtle sanctuary is so-so IMO. I wouldn’t do it again, but I didn’t feel it was a must do.

Calypso Grill is great. We chartered a boat with Double Trouble Charters and they took us to Rum point, stingray city, starfish point, and a few snorkeling spots. The turtle farm was really cool too.

Tillies restaurant is one of my favorite places. Kempton is a nice property too.

Places to eat:
The Wharf- get a reservation for around 8:30 and ask to sit next to water. They feed the tarpon (very cool to watch) at 9 pm.
Calypso's- on Bayside, excellent.
Cracked Conch- go there for sunset. great view. Also great snorkeling
Casanova- Italian, in George Town. One of our favorites.
Lighthouse- worth the 1/2 hour drive if you're adventurous.
Ragazzi’s- Pizza and Italian. Very reasonable and very good.
Ritz Carlton & Westin- several very nice restaurants.
Coconut Joe's- go there for pancakes. Roosters walking around.
Chicken, Chicken- great lunch place for rotisserie chicken. In a strip mall, but very good food. We go there every year on the first day.
Sunshine Grill- best hamburgers and fish tacos on island. Walk across street from Westin. Good value lunch/dinner.
Tillie’s – great breakfast spot. Right on the beach. Part of Palm Heights Resort.
Rackam's - great for lunch or casual dinner. There's a wreck to snorkel right off of Rackams, which offers a ladder to drop down into the water.
Snorkel Spots:
-Eden Rock- that's the name of the spot. It's in George Town and it's right near where the cruise ships are anchored. Park at the Eden Rock dive shop and drop in water right there. Amazing views.
-Cemetery Reef- short drive
-Governor's Reef- can easily walk there from Ritz. Near Westin, and right in front of Governor's house.

Agree with you on both. We stay at the Villas of the Galleon- in between the Westin and Ritz. I much prefer a condo than a major hotel.
