According to one of the responses he’s thrown 13 innings in the past 5 days. He might be a little fatigued

He will be on 4 days rest after throwing 13 2/3 innings over the past 5 days. How long will he really be able to go?

Maybe he wont have much left, but at the same time, i dont think he is a velocity guy. Think its all high 80s stuff. He has thrown 116 a couple times this year and it hasnt seemed to phase him

If he was a lefty I would really be worried. I’m worried that he is a righty with swing and miss stuff and excellent location.
People on here forget that a pitcher that commands 90 with 3 pitches is better than one that throws 100 and can’t command.

I just don’t know why this generation doesn’t understand that good pitching is > good hitting. Happened yesterday. Soft tossing lefty that located cruised through these including Jones. Made him look foolish tbh.

116 mph pitching is impossible to hit-- you're going to see scads of broken bats if he gets in a groove, and scads of broken bones if he's not in kilter.

Have to work the counts and get him out in 4 innings.

How about a pitcher who can throw 100 mph and command all his pitches? We were so spoiled.

I’m just not worried about this guy. Usually these mid-major aces have midweek or weekend game against a legit team that you can kind of point to to say he’s a guy. This is who Cowan has faced, by RPI.

183 Bucknell
241 Fairley Dickinson
193 Fordham
42 College of Charleston
244 Lafayette
231 Citadel
148 VMI
123 FIU
63 UNC-Greenville
109 Mercer
107 Western Carolina
53 ETSU
221 Gardner Webb
89 Samford
231 Citadel
89 Samford

That’s an atrocious slate. He pitched well so credit to him, but he hasn’t sniffed a lineup like ours. Not even close.

DBG you have the stats off hand on him vs Charleston? That’s the only tournament worthy team and they got snubbed

He really didn’t command all of his pitches all season. At the end he could locate that sweeper and do it in any count. He change is what I saw the biggest growth with as the season went on.

Thanks

Solid outing, now you can always analyze the lineup he was facing but against his best competition, he threw a great game

You’re right and I give him credit. He didn’t choose his opponents.

I’d just be more worried if he shoved in a weekend series against Clemson or Wake Forest, something like that.
