Refs hate LSU

Can’t protest a bad call. Only a bad application of a rule.

You mean umpires?

Man, it wasn't close. LSU got beat.
Sure, it was runner interference, but they still added plenty of runs after that inning.

It affacts things bad calls.

Yea that call would have ended an inning. The same inning that scored the runs you know claim a blow out. Sometimes inclusion in finding officials and umpires results in less than the best in officiating. Just a really bad call and no one knows what the outcome of the game would have been it the right call out was made.

12.17.2.6 It is not interference, and the runner is not out:
12.17.2.6.2 When the runner is hit with a fair, untouched batted ball that has passed a fielder (other than the pitcher) and, in the umpire’s judgment, no other fielder had a reasonable chance to make a play

Nah, they don't hate us. They are just sports officials, and that makes them naturally stupid.

It was not runner interference. It had already passed the first baseman, the second baseman didn’t have a play, and it would have to be judged that the right fielder had a chance to make the play. Because you know, rules.

Huh. I'm talking if when the hit ball touches the leg if the runner. It was clear. But LSU was out of challenges.
It would have been 3rd out

They screwed us out of eight runs.

I didn’t watch, haven’t analyzed the replays, don’t really care either way, but if the ball hits the runner… it’s an out.

Apparently not. Read the thread.

They said because lsu couldn’t make a play is why they didn’t rule runner interference. I’ve never seen the ball hit a runner and the argument was “well the defense wasn’t near it to matter”. Anyone ever heard this? They brought it up several times.

Well if you consider one run “plenty”, then you are spot on.

that call gave Stanford 6 runs that they shouldn't have gotten...it should have been the 3rd out.
LSU brought in another pitcher that gave up two hrs with two batters. The team was deflated knowing they couldn't win down 7-0, when the score should have been down 1-0 with two innings to play. I doubt LSU would have removed our best pitcher.
Stanford may very well be a better team, but that call was either extreme homerism, or outright incompetence. Either way that ump should be fired and never work again. LSU was clearly cheated on the winning team's home field.
