No, they cannot.

Good link.

Protestantism was invented more than Fifteen Centuries after Christ walked the Earth. It's absurd to conclude that Almighty God would withhold Ultimate Truth from us human beings for over 1,500 years, suddenly to reveal Ultimate Truth to a handful of people like Calvin and Zwingli.

Exactly. And they have to attack the one true Church to justify their existence.
Why not worship how they wish and leave Catholics alone?

In fairness this thread is calling them out.

Why did Jesus choose a bunch of disciples and apostles to spread His message? Why didn't Jesus just go around by Himself preaching?

Why did Jesus found His Church on Earth, and then appoint the leaders of that Church? Why didn't Jesus just leave us with the Bible before He ascended to Heaven? Jesus could have dropped the complete Bible on us and said, "Here it is. It's all there. This is the whole Word of God."

Jesus left a Church. Jesus wanted us to join his Church. His Church has leaders. You want to seek God outside of the Church that He told you to join?
That's your free will choice, brother man. That's your gamble.

Yep. I wish we would focus more on what the two sides have in common.

We are all brothers and sisters in Christ.

At some point, the Catholic Church went away from the worship of Christ and became worship of the Pope and his Cardinals.

More likely that man hid the truth, like by keeping the word from the people and telling them that they can't understand it.

Jesus did not found the Catholic church and there is no evidence otherwise.

Protestantism was invented

It came into being as a one way conversation to God. Not beholding to a Priest or a church's cash toll to have the most free conversation ever invented. A plain language of the Bible all could read. For all this the Catholic Church waged holy war and tortured and killed many.

It always existed. They just don't like to admit that. They want to believe Catholic churches were the only churches until the protestant reformation.

Why do Catholics feel they must constantly defend your faith?

Oof.

That’s the scholarship level you’re putting up against literal geniuses like Jonathan Edwards and John Calvin?

The amount of time that my fellow Christ followers spend arguing with other Christ followers is just ridiculous. The back and forth has grown so tiresome.

Are you saying Jesus didn’t know what he was doing when he made the Apostles, and particularly Peter (the Rock), leaders of an early Church? So Jesus and God got it wrong and protestants figured it all out 15 centuries later?

Never underestimate the hubris of many protestants.

Adam literally walked with God, and he and his descendants strayed so far from God that He hit the reset button with Noah.

The Catholic Church was started by imperfect man and certainly has had the possibility of straying from God’s will.

So it’s possible that God didn’t withhold truth so much as a group walked away from it and someone else found it.
