Any opinions are welcomed. I only have enough time for one round.

I would play TPC. I do like the layout of LA Tour but given the choice, TPC would be my pick.

Can your club get you on at Ellendale?

Ellendale over La Tour (in current state) for sure.

TPC is a hike from Houma.

Reports from people that have recently played La Tour have been less than stellar.

I get better reports about Grand Ridge in Luling… which isn’t a bad option if you can’t get on TPC. Grand Ridge is a fun little tract.

Ellendale is way better than LaTour. Also TPC isn’t real close to Houma and not always wide open on tee times. I’m guessing Atchafalaya is still in bad shape?

Atchafalaya is still absolute garbage. Ellendale is much better than La Tour. TPC is an hour away from Houma.

I played LA Tour last week, in pretty solid shape

Atchafalaya is much improved over what it was even 3 months ago. Far from "absolute garbage". Agree with the rest of your post.

Fun is not the word I'd use for that place but they did a great job turning it around conditions-wise.

Unique may be the better word. It’s swamp golf, which is visually pretty cool for people that aren’t used to it - The course itself is flat, but tight and in good shape.

Terrible take.

LaTour is in great shape. Played there on Thursday. Tee boxes are in as good of shape as it gets.

Atchafalaya is in terrific shape right now and getting better. Best in years.

Short game better be on point for Grand Ridge. Played it three years ago and their greens ate my lunch.

To clarify, Atchafalaya is definitely better than it has been in recent years. I won’t disagree with that. However, I would say that means it’s about like beaver creek at the moment. Both nice and very serviceable golf courses. The problem with Atchafalaya is that you can’t help but realize that it could easily be the best public course in the state. They are trending upwards for sure but still so far from what it could been. I also stand by my previous statement that Ellendale is head and shoulders above that course and LA Tour. Same as the issue with Atchafalaya, Ellendale simple takes better care of their course. Obviously it’s private but they definitely aren’t inundated with money either.

I can agree with that. It definitely could be the best public course in the state. Hopefully we get there. I’m on the board at Atchafalaya and things are trending up for sure. Making some investments in a better maintenance program and currently replacing the bridges and sprucing up the clubhouse.

Odd coming from someone who's always ragged on the place as a former employee
