Lots of folks were disappointed Honda is discontinuing their residential mowers. I needed a new mower this spring and couldn't even find another brand with a Honda engine.

FF a few months, and I heard Stihl was about to start importing their walk behinds. They have been selling these in Europe for decades. They look weird, but it's a proven design. Aluminum deck, aluminum wheels with rubber tread, kohler engine, and single lever deck adjustment. The grass catcher is a hard sided "box". It's vented on the sides only, so supposedly you won't eat dust the entire time you bag leaves/grass.

I'll post more of a review later this summer, but I'm happy to retire my Honda.

Ah yes, I always look at how low a mower cuts for bermuda.
I have St. Aug in the front yard and cut it on the highest notch.

The top end 756 model is worth looking at, Kohler commercial-grade engine with pressurized lubrication.

I considered it, but it's 2k. It also doesn't have the single lever height adjustment. It does have a magnesium deck and a better engine though.

So do you own the thing or did you order it?
Is that your yard or a stock photo?

It's mine. I just made my first cut with it. The hand controls are opposite normal (blade lever on bottom, drive on top). This one doesn't have the blade brake, but it's an option. The deck height adjustment is great. The whole deck is spring loaded. To raise it just pull the main lever. To lower, just pull the lever and push down on the deck.

It's max speed seems slower than the Honda, but that's not an issue for me, as I cut slow.

The cut quality is at least as good as the Honda. I'm not ready to say it's better just yet, but it may well be.

The kohler started easily and seems to run at a lower rpm than the honda, but that may be just blade noise perception.

It holds more gas than the Honda. Good for me because every time my can started venting and pouring faster, then Honda would fill and overflow if I wasn't careful.

So far, so good.

I considered making the jump. My neighbors E-go didn't mulch as nice as my old honda though, and couldn't finish his yard on one charge with the battery he had.

They start at $999. K&D in Baton Rouge has them. Some Ace hardware stores have them too, if not, find your local Stihl Dealer.

That's why I am just going to buy a Kohler or Kawasaki motor and swap it onto my Honda mower deck when the time comes
