Taking my daughter to the Kentucky game Wednesday morning. She is a big fan of Griffin Herring. I hate that we missed him pitch today. I’m looking to get to the stadium right when gates open and maybe get a chance to get Herring to sign a ball for her.

I’m assuming crowds will not be too big early Wednesday morning and hoping we have a chance. Can you approach the bullpen area at the Met for autographs? Any other suggestions to approach for an autograph before game time for pitchers at the Met? Thanks

The bus will drop off the team outside the gate down the baseline from whatever dugout they are in for the game.

I'd get there early enough to catch him getting off the bus.

Same situation when they leave...

I take my son every year as our mother/son get away. He usually gets them after the game right outside the gate that the team comes out of. Also, if you go shopping at the Galleria, keep your eyes open. We’ve run into players just walking around shopping or hanging out in the food court. They are super sweet with the kids about signing autographs and taking pictures. Just don’t be “that person” that gets overly intrusive. Tre and Dylan played at Dave and Busters with my son and his best friend for like 2 hours a couple years ago.

Find where they live. Bug their house, observe them, and memorize their daily schedule.

Maineris teams hung around and signed autographs/took pics/etc

Jays teams do not. Maybe it’s an NIL thing

This is the dream for a kid right here. Imagine going back home and telling all your friends you beat Dylan Crews in Skee-ball

This is wrong. My son has hats with all kinds of signatures from CJJ teams. We even got some after last years championship game in Omaha. (Thanks Ack and several others) Ack stayed on the field signing stuff until they made him leave long after the trophy presentation.

For the OP. The team buses loading or unloading is a good spot. We had more success after the game is over by the buses.

They might do a little on field after the game but given that this is a tournament they need to get off the field quickly rather then hang around.

I'm sure she will be, but tell her to be respectful and if a player doesn't want to sign oh well. Also don't forget to take your own sharpie. Good luck! Herring has been very polite the times I've seen him sign stuff for the kids.

Mission accomplished. Griffin signed her ball down the 3rd base line during warmups. Super nice guy! Daughter was happy!

This is a big reason why the week in Hoover is usually a really nice experience.
