OT let me know what I should do
Whenever I am asked I normally say the same thing like "any gratuities are paid once the service is completed".
Anyone asking for gratuity before the work is done likely isn't getting anything at all but there's always a chance.

I recently encountered for the first time a Living Wage Service Charge. It was coded something like LvgWgSC 3.5%.
This was a hipster place in a vacation town. I chuckled at how the OT would react, but I tipped the lady over 20% on top of that; she was an outstanding and friendly waitress.
This place did not explain where the fee went, but some places who do it say that fee goes to back of house employees who don’t share in tips. Of course, those folks get more than the $2.13 an hour min. wage that tipped employees often get paid.

tipping is a clever way for the employer to pass along labor expense to the customer. justo dice no!

Of course, the people with me wanted certain things on their burgers and extra sauces.
People who want it special need to order for themselves.

Sushi is prepared and packed like a presentation. Brisket is thrown in a foil pan.

My brother was a picky eater who would have only meat and mayo on his burger. We rarely ate out, but at McDonalds my dad placed two orders because special orders do upset them.
We all got our food, then brother’s special order was separate. We would be chowing down while he stood at the counter waiting on his order. It was pretty funny.
