UAW website live updates
Expect about 5000 total votes.
al.com updates with commentary
At the moment, the No's lead the Yes's. Al.com not happy.

Unions are shite. Only thing they do is kill production time, increase produxtion cost and thus increase consumer cost

Did the workers need to prove they were workers with an ID to be able to vote?

If so, that's clearly racist...

Only rich people buy Mercedes anyways. They can afford it.

Mexico has plenty of space for more assembly plants.

AL.com is a trash site. A couple of family members still read it. Drives me insane. If AL.com is melting then the news must be good.

I just don’t get it.

The south has seen a boom in auto production jobs precisely because the unions ruined things in Michigan.

Why f up economic development?

These workers are getting paid well and these are solid middle class jobs.

No union necessary

Not good enough for them.

*Most of the ones I have seen interviewed I wouldn't hire to push a broom.

For those who voted “no,” Webster urged cooperation.

“We still have to work together. No matter how this goes, it does not matter. At the end of the day, we are still fellow employees,” he said.

Yeah, we still have to work together. We'll see how well that goes during and after the first strike.

Unions had their place at one time but that time is over.

(edit) These people should never forget there is a skilled workforce just across the Mexican border that assembles cars for the big three and their hourly wage is a lot less than UAW workers.

So you want cheap labor, unreasonable livable wage for the American worker, to create move profit for companies? What did the American worker do to you?

The Mercedes plant in Vance has the highest per-hour labor cost of any auto plant in the US. They are paid handsomely, and it has NEVER been a union shop.

Dumbass.

When Fain saw that majority vote counted he was so sad looking. Loved every minute of it.

Stay out of Alabama business

The plant & their workers in Vance have done just fine together since around 1997 I believe

I have watched numerous friends go on to live very successful fulfilling lives after landing a job at one of the many plants and suppliers here in the state

The plants aren’t pushing for it.

Most workers aren’t pushing for it.

The unions are agitating to get in and have played dirty to get enough signatures to do so at various times.

Bunch of Yankees following jobs probably still want to be in a union.

You think they would learn.

This post is by someone with no fricking clue what's happening in Vance. MBUSA is a great place to work. The new president git rid of the 2 tier top out and allowing team members to vote for shift schedules. They are the highest paid production job in Tuscaloosa County by far with a fairly low cost of living in West Central Alabama.

You can go suck that union dick.
