A California man who was told by city officials he needed to put a fence up to hide his boat from public view did just that – with a twist
quote:

The city required him to build a 6-foot coverage screen in front of his boat. After discussing the plan with his neighbor, Constable decided to build the fence – with a lifelike painting of the boat on it.

So far, the city has not responded to the fence mural.

WAFB

Pretty good mural actually.

I like his style but I don’t understand his effort.

Not everyone wants to look at the things you want to see.

For instance, I can look at engines all day long and wish all sports cars came with clear hoods. But not everyone feels that way.

Damn that’s actually pretty solid painting.

Also this is a prime example of the old saying “‘Why?’ frick you, that’s why.”

Pretty good? I think your standards for neighborhood picket murals might be a bit high.

Haha, that's clever! So instead of just a regular fence, he painted a lifelike image of his boat on it. That's a creative way to satisfy the city's requirement while still keeping his boat visible. I bet it looks pretty convincing from a distance!

At least he's being aspirational. No way the boat behind that fence is that clean.

I'm thinking john boat with an Evinrude 25.

I recall a thread in here years ago about the trashiness vel non of boats parked in a driveway in a subdivision. Folks were pretty evenly divided with strong opinions.

My neighbor parks one in his driveway. I think it looks like shite, but he probably thinks the same thing about something of mine.
