Do y'all ever get in these "Big Flip" arguments on the web?

Any context?

It usually comes from young mush that were brain washed in college after never fully studying the issue for themselves.

It's taught in a way that they say:

"Yes, the Democrats were vile racists and the Jim Crow and KKK stories are all true. However we saw the error of our ways and reversed course"

"BUT, the Republican party adopted all of those practices, utilize them today, and they are the real racists."


That is 100% a false dichotomy.

If you look at the abortion stance alone, Margret Sanger's vision for Black American's is still a real vison, it's just not said out loud. There is a real faction that knows its a very viable population control technique and the NWO accepts that. Euthanasia is becoming very big too for the same reason.

Not to mention that LBJ statement on "I'll have those ni****rs voting Democratic for 200 years". That still runs true in the Democratic circles too. Throw money at it and demand you stay in your lane.

Anytime someone is constantly accusing you of something, they are the guilty party.

I try not to even get into arguments here on tPT.

I fail spectacularly more oft than not, but I still try. Most people who post on sites like here or DU or Reddit are already staunch in their beliefs, and arguing points of contention becomes wasted energy and redundancy.

I have certainly evolved a lot since my inception here in 2016 when I would argue often and was still a registered Democrat who considered myself more of a moderate because I thought I understood what that meant. Too many shades of gray now cloud the spectrum. Once the epiphany occurs that most people are irremediably closed-minded though, you realize the profound futility of attempted discourse, and begin to recognize when opportunity for said productive discourse does or does not exist.

I'd rather just say my piece and be nonconfrontational, but posting opens you up to reciprocal rebuttal, which is fair and the only way things should be. It's just difficult to not shitpost when your inherent nature screams at you to shitpost more often.
