re: Unbelievable stats for Kling and Milazzo today on Upon Further Review

Then I stand corrected. He had a .333 OBP in the 4 games. I did not see the HBP in the box score when looking
I just don’t understand this Kling thread or the ones calling for him to be benched
He isn’t very good, but he is one of our best 9. Why does that garner so much conversation?

In your defense if you are looking at the box score under the lsu schedule it doesn’t include hbp

You’re a tennis guy for a reason pridey.
And we can tell you don’t watch the games, too

Quick look at a stats page he was hit once in SEC play. That one auburn game.
Ask Lester though he has it locked in stole cold memory
And I don’t think he is a sacrificial lamb, he just hasn’t been great and had high expectations on top of that. . He was one of the top recruits and he is the weakest of the 9 guys in the lineup.

Because we have a contingent of the fan base, in every sport, that can identify when a player is struggling but are unable to see that maybe he's still the best option we have. If you're going to take someone out of the lineup, that means someone on the bench has to replace them. Unfortunately this year, anyone not playing has, at most, done marginally better than Kling offensively, so then you're just sacrificing a huge upside defensively by taking him out. Bingham is the only guy on the bench right now who would even be considered but he's been dreadful at the plate the last month, even worse than Kling, and has been bad defensively all year. This is just one of those times where we're not going to have a good offensive replacement so you're going to go with the most elite defensive guy, and that's Kling.

Yep. If a player is performing poorly, but trying, and he is the best option, the only potential anger should be directed at the coach.
Kling is your best available and he seems like a high effort guy. I understand being frustrated at the situation, but bitching saying he shouldn’t play makes zero sense. The guy coming in after him in Bingham is about .040 lower in conference OBP

I might can like this guy after all!

Well Rudy being the best swimmer and making it to the egg first doesn’t make sense either…some things just aren’t meant to be understood

He has hit midweek level well all year then flopped in weekend play. He has shown that his performance in midweek games like Northwestern has no correlation to his weekend performance.
Kling hasn't hit any pitching with consistency. Wasn't he benched before SEC play started?
I saw a glimmer of hope in G3 vs Aggie and NWS. Let me enjoy my hopium.

Because lsu fans love to hold players to their recruiting rankings & talk themselves into unrealistic expectations
It’s why milazzo can hit .240 & play solid defense & be labeled as a guy that has “it”
But Kling hits .240 & plays elite defense and there are people that will invent reasons on why he sucks & shouldn’t play
Posted on 5/9/24 at 12:16 pm to Lester Earl
There you go again Lester making up your own stats. Kling isn't hitting .240 in conference or overall he is hitting .170 in conference play. That is a 70 point difference. He would have to make a massive improvement to get to .240 and still would be below average.
It has nothing to do with his recruiting rankings it has to do with the fact he is a .170 hitter and starting most of the year. He sucks and gets criticized for his inability to hit nothing to do with his recruiting rankings

Since April 1st SEC Games :
Kling (.242/.375/.394)
8-33
5 2B
7 BB / 12K
You are the only person on earth that cares that Kling started 0-14 in SEC games.
When you tell me an answer on what 3 OF'ers should be playing right now, then ill repsond to one of your posts again.

I’ll answer that for him. He thinks Ruddell and Mitchell should be starting over Kling.

This is 100% true. Fans love to do that without understanding where those ranking come from and what they are based on. Those high school draft rankings are based on potential and development on where they predict that player to be in 4-5 years. Some people just don't understand that.

He's pretty quick maybe start bunting him

I am the only person on earth that cares Kling is hitting .170 seems to be alot of people on this thread and others talking about his lack of hitting some say he should play and hit 9th others say he should be benched but just about everyone agrees his hitting is atrocious.
I am torn about responding to your three outfielder question. On one hand I get alot of humor from you pulling stats out using date ranges and just to fit your specific argument. On other hand it gets old seeing u dickride a .170 hitter in kling and a .132 hitter in Neal. At least Braswell your other idol can hit even though fielding is an adventure for him.
