Miss State (32-16) projected #12 seed and LSU (32-18) on the bubble

SEC Records
14-10
9-15

State has loses to Air Force, Austin Peay (2), Georgia Southern, South Alabama and Central Arkansas. They didn’t play anyone big time team in non conference.
Only series wins are LSU, Georgia, Vandy, Bama and one sweep to worse team in the league in Auburn.
I am dumb, no doubt. But being a host….make it make sense.

They're predicting State ends up 18-12 in the SEC. That usually gets you a host

Crazy to think that just 5 SEC games is the difference in hosting and not even being in right now. So many close games could have swung the season.

Miss St has a much better resume including conference wins, Q1 wins, SOS, Non conference SOS, head to head so you can't compare them to LSU at all.
If they get to 17 wins in conference then they deserve to host a regional.

They are five games better in league play and their RPI is sixteen spots higher. I don’t see what you don’t get

You are right, you are dumb.

they also have a series against Missouri and could go 4-2 the next 6 games and be 18-12. that’s a good season.
we need to go 4-2 to get to 13-17.
that’s a pretty big difference right now. thats 5 wins but it means we’re 10 games behind.
people need to stop and realize there will be many many teams getting into the NCAA Tournament who aren’t better than the bubble SEC teams.
The Sunbelt will get multiple teams we could beat in a series in.
The Big 10 will get multiple teams.
the Colonial will get multiple team.
Almost half the spots are AQs and at least 20 of them are teams that would not make the tournament if their conference champion wasn’t guaranteed a spot.

You should ignore everything but SEC record.

You forgot an arse beating by Southern. Don't care if it was one game, it was a home game and got destroyed. Not enough makeup in the world to cover that black eye

Who you beat matters more than "bad losses". Everyone loses games. But good teams beat other good teams. Average teams only beat bad or other average teams.
To that end, MSU is 10-9 vs. Q1 opponents. LSU is 5-9. And two of those wins literally just came about this weekend.
You are looking at a current snapshot and trying to extrapolate that into a future scenario. The "projections" aren't really a "projection". They are a picture of how things stand right now. With 6 more games remaining against top 25 (RPI) teams LSU could play their way from "on the bubble" to a 2-seed lock. Or they could play their way out of the tournament. MSU could sweep their way through the final 6 games and be a top 8 seed. Or they could struggle and find themselves as a #2 seed.

I don't get your point. You explained how Miss State is better almost in every aspect including a head-to-head and you're confused how they are in and LSU isn't right now?

The point is they lost way more games to inferior teams than we did. Just a few games more in the SEC as well. That’s not a big enough difference to warrant top 16 and out the tourney. If we were in I wouldn’t say it’s a big deal but to not even be in when we are this close is the point.

Bro the stats don’t lie they just have a better resume. It’s not that hard to figure this one out.

Teams have played 24 SEC games so far and they have 5 more than us. That's an entire weekend sweep plus another weekend series win out of 8 weekends played so far. Stop phrasing that in a way that makes it seem like that's not significant.

If we were 15-15 we prob host

My guess is the overall records (comparable) carry less weight than do our conference records (big difference).

SEC record is all that matters. Do people still not get this?
