OT Engineers — Paint Thinner Spill — Best Cleanup Method

Big spill in front hall. Soaked into wooden floors.
My plan now is to blow as much air over it as possible with a fan. Any other ideas?
Cat litter?
Absorbent pads?

Floating floor, glue down? Type of floor would help.

That's not good. I can see some of the wood floor being replaced. Sorry. That's all I got.

Google says kitty litter and baking soda.
I know that stuff evaporates very fast so need to get the bulk of it up with some sort of absorbant.

If it's soaking in spread it out so the stain ends up even.
Then I'd probably just let it evaporate. Unless there's something mixed in it that won't.

cat litter, then wait, then sweep it up. I worked in a paint store a long time ago.

That’s what I don’t know yet. I’m not there right now, and the person who is threw away the can that leaked.
She says it smells like “gasoline.” Based on that, I don’t think it’s acetone or turpentine.

Don't freak out. Regular paint thinner can be used to strip old wax of of finished real wood floors prior to screening and re coating. Just wipe up everything you can with old rags, ventilate the room and put fans on it.
I will stress that you have to take those old rags and lay them out flat, well away from any structures and let the liquid evaporate, before you put them in a garbage can at the road. Otherwise, you have a real fire hazard.
Unless you got tons of it under the floor, you should be fine. Acetone, and lacquer thinner are a different story altogether.

I'd throw some paint on it and see if they cancel each other out, me.
