Biden awards medal of freedom
quote:
President Biden bestowed the Presidential Medal of Freedom on 19 people Friday, including civil rights icons such as the late Medgar Evers, political leaders such as former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and actor Michelle Yeoh.
Biden said at the White House that the award is “the nation's highest civilian honor” and that this year's recipients are “incredible people whose relentless curiosity, inventiveness, ingenuity and hope have kept faith in a better tomorrow.”
The White House said the recipients made “exemplary contributions to the prosperity, values, or security of the United States, world peace, or other significant societal, public or private endeavors.”
The 10 men and nine women hail from the worlds of politics, sports, entertainment, civil rights and LGBTQ+ advocacy, science and religion. Three medals were awarded posthumously.
Seven politicians were among the recipients: former New York mayor and philanthropist Michael Bloomberg; U.S. Rep. James E. Clyburn (D-S.C.); former Sen. Elizabeth Dole (R-N.C.); climate activist and former Vice President Al Gore; Biden's former climate envoy, former Sen. John F. Kerry (D-Mass.); the late former Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-N.J.); and Pelosi, the Democratic congresswoman from San Francisco and the only female speaker of the House.

3 of these people are people that ran for President and the 2 most powerful democrats in the house.
Burn this administration to the ground.

These things are such a ridiculous circle jerk.
They should only be given to regular civilians who preform extraordinary acts of courage or achievement, like that pizza delivery guy who ran into a burning house to save three kids.
It's also noteworthy that when a Republican gives them to an athlete or celebrity, the media flips out but when Obama gives them to Bruce Springsteen and the rest of his Spotify playlist they squeal with delight.

That list quoted is disgraceful. Seriously disgraceful.

Our nations highest civilian honor is now a political pat on the back, thanks for your service to the cause.....disgusting.

These people are just shameless.
You have to laugh but no one ever challenges them or truly calls them out.

Humorous that one of the non-politicians came to fame portraying a Chinese spy.

Oh look.
Another useless award given to people who contribute little to nothing, by people who contribute little to nothing to society but want one more way to set themselves apart from the peasants.

Just a private club giving "awards" to each other. They don't even try to dress it up anymore.

Pelosi getting the award cheapens it.
