notes from today
A&M best hitter Montgomery was held to 0-13 this weekend, very surprised
LSU is now 1-8 on Sundays in conference, with 2 run rules and another game today were the other team went up 10 but it was in the 9th inning
LSU only had 6 hits today and 1 came from Kling as a PH
the top three hitters for LSU today 1-8
the top five hitters for LSU today 2-14
that isn't going to get it done against number 1 with the way LSU pitched today...that one inning where A&M scored 9 was tough
we will glady take the series win over number 1
moving to 9-15 with 6 games remaining they need 13-14 conference wins to make it to the field of 64

For whatever reason not only does the pitching struggle on Sundays but the hitting does as well. I don’t think we’ve scored more than 7 on a Sunday all season.

Just hope today doesn’t deflate their confidence. That’s the only thing that will carry this team the rest of the way. We can compete.

Have to win both series or get to the Finals in the SECT.
Hell might have to win it all
Hell might have to win it all

This is where Hurd not panning out as a weekend starter really hurts. If they go just 4-5 on Sundays, they’re sitting at 12-12 right now.

Does anyone know the highest ranked RPI to ever be left out of the tourney? Has a team with an RPI in the 20’s ever been left out?

LSU was left out once with an RPI around 22. Didn't make the SEC Tournament by a tiebreaker I think, which led the SEC to expand the tournament to more teams. I think that was back when it was 8 teams.

You hit the nail on the head! This has to be the biggest phenomenon of the season! For whatever reason, he has been a total non-factor. I’m with you, if he could have won you 4 or five Sunday games, we could be looking out a window a lot closer to the front of the bus!
I would also like to know where we would be if 50% of the solo homers they hit had at least one runner on base!?! Have to believe that would add 4 to 5 more wins.

You know what else is 1-7? The at bats by Brown and Bingham for the weekend. With 3 Ks.
Meanwhile…the guy 95% of the rant hates and wants to never step foot on the field again was 1-2 (.500 for the retards) with 0 K and 1 RBI against one of the better relievers in the SEC. Just thought I would slide that fun fact in there.

And he was 0-6 with 4 k's last weekend. We know what those guys are. None of them are really good.

Yeah, LSU in 2011. We went 13-17 SEC.
It was a total screw job…. We should NOT have been left out that year.

And with that 1-2 Kling is hitting a whopping .170 in SEC play. Are you really advocating that he is an effective hiter at .170. Play Ruddell Play Mitchell find a cfer for next year. Kling hitting below .200 in SEC play for a third straight year ain't it.

Correct. Which is why you play the best defender. And if you go back to the Tennessee series Kling has doubled up hits in SEC games over Bingham and Brown is 1 for 12.
I understand the argument that Brown needs more experience but now isn’t the time. And I’m not saying you are the one making that argument, but he needs to be the 3rd option right now. He can gain experience in the summer and try again next year.
I’m fine with either Bingham or Kling bc an argument can be made for either. Bingham has performed better in the SEC overall but Kling has been better as of late. I have said all along if Bingham is hitting over .300 then you could sacrifice his defense.
Maybe you go with a who is hot vs who is not (relatively speaking) in regards to Bingham and Kling going forward and the days Bingham is in, you bring in Kling as a defensive sub later.

I agree Kling should be a defensive sub only but you need to find a functional cfer for next year or maybe Jay has already targeted one in portal. Either way giving Kling meaningful at bats is wasting them.

Yup 2011. That team was pretty good.

First off....stop giving yourself an upvote. 2nd off, you wanted to see Brown start an entire SEC weekend. He did and all he accomplished was lowering his overall SEC batting average further away from .100.
Now you want to see what two other dudes can do, who have a combined 14 at-bats on the season in non-conference play, with all 14 coming from one of the two. We are trying to earn a spot in the regionals. It's Bingham or Kling at this point. One has 6 hits in the last 4 SEC series and the other has 3. One plays an elite center field and the other is average at best. Bingham at least has shown to be less strike-out prone and can run it out of the yard. We are at the point of splitting hairs between the two.
Since April 12 Kling has been better at the plate and offers better speed and defense but if Bingham were to get the next shot, he has had a better overall season at the plate. Whoever gives us the best chance going forward. But your hatred of Kling is still beyond weird

First of all I ment to upvote LSUboosie not myself. Secondly continually throwing a guy hitting .170 out there does nothing to help us win. The guys you brush off with only 14 at bats all season might actually hit if given a chance and if they don't how much worse can they hit than .170?
