In my experience, red flag. It causes excessive alter use.

This is the gayest post I’ve seen in years

Masculine traits. Men who have their shite together. Traditional physical features (not overblown) such as height, lean muscle mass, and decent skin. Ability to accumulate resources. A strong understanding of their frame. Knowing what they want out of life and how to build it. Then confidently inviting others into their frame; inviting those who complement their frame. In terms of the “pretty boys” women seem to love, they usually have a balance of masculine and feminine features. High cheek bones but strong jawline. Vibrant eye color with long eye lashes. “Girl” looks on a guy frame. Young Brad Pitt for example.
Literally none of this

All people are different, but if you stick to your principles and don't get juked by the vagina, good people find good people.
Figured that out after my divorce from a pill-popping cheat.

I have heard recently that due to contraception hormones this effects what women are attracted to. When they are ovulating it’s more masculine type features, but more feminine men when they are using oral contraceptives. Is this true? I do not know, but it’s an interesting theory.

I’ll add this as well- and it is something that I’ve noticed both men and women are guilty of, especially those ppl in their late 30’s and beyond- who have had awful life experiences- they become so tarnished by what’s happened to them by other shitty ppl, that it distorts their perspective and ability to see the good in new ppl.
It’s as if everyone else they meet is judged by the crimes of another.
I’m mot saying that one shouldn’t be cautious while dating, but one shouldn’t persecute new ppl for the wrongs committed by ppl from their past.
I hope that makes sense.

Oral contraceptives are not used as widely now as once they once were.
IUD’s and implantable contraceptives I believe are more commonly used now.
Oral contraceptives though, serve to trick a woman’s body into thinking she is pregnant - and thus the woman does not / will not ovulate - therein preventing pregnancy from occurring.
With copper IUD’s - a woman can still ovulate.
Interesting theory though.

That makes total sense.
If you come from a place of a person who hurt you. It's going to be hard to know what it's like to be treated correctly.

It’s a fine line between gracefully letting the past go and learning the lesson so it doesn’t happen again. There was a poster on here who shall remain nameless who I was having long conversations about true geniune life crushing narcissistic abuse. You never ever want to be there. But it’s impossible not to carry that forward. You need like 3-4 years to decompress and let it work its way out of your system. And then if a later partner triggers that same place in your primitive brain, you are right back in the shite. It’s very hard not to react if someone hits that specific fight or flight response. PTSD is a real thing. And some people always have one foot in the scary past and another in the fearful future. Not good for relationships .

Oh I’ve been there. And you’re right- it taints your whole life for a while.
But that’s where really good counseling comes into play.
And my perspective is if I’m injured like in a car accident or something as a result of the careless actions of another- I’m going to seek medical treatment.
Same thing for psychological injuries inflicted by others - I sought counseling after my experience with the narcissist. And I’m better for it. I didn’t ask for the trauma- but I’m also too stubborn to stay injured bc of it.

This is why some ppl need counseling.
Life is messy. Sometimes it’s our own fault, sometimes not.
But nonetheless - it distorts our ability to interact in a healthy manner with others and can be triggering.
That’s why imho, really good counseling is so important.
It’s not at all healthy to live both in the past and fearful of the future. That’s a recipe for failure imho.
It’s very helpful to know your own triggers, and to be equipped with the ability to look broadly at the underlying fear and dismantle it before it causes any future problems.

Money and good looks/masculinity.
They are inversely proportional. The more you have of one, women will be more likely to tolerate less of the other.
