A few things I noticed looking at the boxscore

A&M outhit LSU 11 to 7. The difference was timely hitting.
Jump hit 3 batters and gave up 3 home runs but all solo shots.
A&M made 3 errors to LSU's 2 but LSU's errors did not
LSU gave up 0 bases on balls A&M gave up only 2.
LSU had some good plays (coupled a little with bad baserunning decisions by A&M) in the field that saved at least 1 run. LSU had at least 1 piece of bad baserunning that ended an inning but on the same play, good hustle on the base path allowed that allowed a run to score before the out.
Ultimately, it comes back to timely hitting.
LSU had 13 baserunners (7 hits, 2 BB, 1 HBP, 2 on Es, 2 FC) 6 scored, 2 out baserunning, 1 out on double play. 2 FCs, 2 LOB.
A&M had 15 baserunners (11 hits, 3 HBP, 1 on E) 4 scored, 1 out baserunning, 2 out on double plays, 8 LOB
Winning this kind of game probably gets you pumped up more than winning a Grambling-type game. LSU did almost everything right in this game. TIme to build on that.

If you swapped the team names, that would sound like many of our games this year,

The Tigers have won 6 of 7 and just beat A&M with their stud on the mound. These are the games that LSU would’ve found a way to lose early in the SEC season.
Definitely trending in the right direction.

Tommy White had some terrible at bats and was bailed out. Needs to get his shite together.

It's nice to finally win a close SEC game against a good team. Had not done that since the first series of the season.
LSU record in 1 or 2 run games : 3-7
Lost to Florida by 2 in extras
Lost to Arkansas by 1 in extras and by 2
Lost to Vandy by 2
Lost to Tennessee by 2
Lost to Missouri by 1
Lost to Auburn by 2
Beat State by 1 on March 16th
Beat Auburn by 1
Beat TAMU by 2
You can say this about most teams, but just 2 or 3 of those losses going the other way and you have a 10-12 or 11-11 team.

True...Tommy hasn't come through with the HR akin to last season but the man has had shoulder surgery and he's been on the comeback trail all season but he's steadily been hitting hot grounders and there's no way anyone can say he doesn't have a competitive mind! As for swinging at the first strike I'd rather him do that than stand at the plate and watch two strikes come down the middle without swinging and then swing at one in the dirt!
GO TOMMY GO!!

If it doesn’t, nothing else will.

If you can't enjoy last night as an LSU fan, then you must lead a miserable life.
Baseball is a fun, hard and cruel game, sometimes it's best to enjoy the wins.

We had 8 hits. We’re counting Travinski’s HR.

That’s unpossible. I was told Yeskie can’t coach strikes and his teams walk too many people.

Yup. If things kinda even out as they should, these next couple weeks ought to be pretty nice.

A lot of that is due to A&M being aggressive at the plate. And of course when we were down early we had posts lamenting the fact that we need to be more aggressive at the plate like A&M.

But his defense was probably the best of the game for either team
