I live here. My understanding is that he realized they weren't going to let him do his job. It would be constant fighting and distractions. Which isn't good for the kids, so he decided to finally give in despite winning the vote last week.

Some members of the community have this one completely wrong. Pell City Football has never had any kind of spotlight on it till now. Yes, it was initially bad attention, but in the end he drives headlines, which is good for players and the community. Especially if he were able to start winning. I do not give a shite about his personal life, dude was a good hire for what they needed. Pell City is a nice place to live, but there are some fricking idiots here just like every where else. Wouldn't be surprised if the main opponents aren't even here full time, just live on the lake in the summer.

He is a constant train wreck, and how anyone could hire him after the stuff he pulled in Colquitt County and Valdosta is beyond any rational thought.

Any system that hires that guy to coach and mentor young men deserves the shitshow he inevitably brings with him. Even if he’s winning, which he very much was not in Pell City, the shitshow will always come.

Trust me: it's still bad attention. He drives headlines because he's a cancer and destroys everything he touches. The city also got attention because no one could believe they were dumb enough to hire him given his track record.

When you’ve gotten gone from your 4th or 5th school with controversy always surrounding you, maybe you are the problem. What do ya think?

If you’re someone who is in charge of leading young men, your personal life does still matter.
