you just have to adapt and send your kids to an "F" school.
you have to adapt and not get them tutoring because they can't learn because you sending them to an "F" school.

You have to work 4 jobs so you can't help them with their schoolwork.

But the “I can’t afford it” for many simply means they don’t want to afford it. This is my experience, yours may vary

So inflation doesn't exist? Is this turning into another boomernomics thread.

I have 2 right now. I probably won't have a third unless I get a promotion or my business takes off really soon. My ole lady isn't getting younger.

Not defending the economy. It sucks.

I'm simply saying people spend money on junk and then bitch about cost.

Don’t have to wonder. White people around the world are quickly making themselves extinct.

At some point, they’ll have to be an ultimate white flight to safety. Maybe back to Europe, which we would have to fight the Muslims for. Maybe to the mountain west.

Of course it exists.

All I can tell you is this, you can never have more time. If you want another one do it sooner rather than later. The world needs good people to have children, because the not so good people are having plenty.

Also, quit complaining about housing being too expensive. Go live in a rural area with zero job prospects.

It's selfish of you to be mad at the economy you didn't spend decades passing stupid laws and voting for retards to destroy.

Older people will spend half their day bitching about the economy and how societal collapse is right around the corner and then spend the other half telling younger people to quit bitching and how things were much harder back when they were coming up.

I don't believe that this is something new. More women have been career focused for over twenty years now however they do have age restriction and an itchy internal clock if they want to have biologic children. Trying to find that balance with a career and family planning can be challenging.

Not as hard as they are programmed to believe it is.

In the 80's, my mother got her masters degree and a good paying career all while having two young kids. Having a present husband/father helped.

Also in the 80's, my wife's mother had 3 kids, got her masters degree and a good paying career, while having 3 young kids, and no father figure in the house (he bailed).

If women could do this in the 19th century, they can sure as hell do it in 2024.

What’s the alternative? Should everyone give up and just turn into a nihilist? Some people truly struggle, maybe that’s you, if so hopefully things get better. If you don’t believe it can or will, it definitely won’t.

i've looked and applied to so many jobs closer to my house that i hear are just out there that i just need to go get.

do you know how much a masters degree cost in the 80's vs today? no? i figured.

in the 80's your mom on her own could afford a 2 story house by herself with 3 kids.

Probably because these kids under 30 wouldnt have survived 40 years ago either.

Most seem pretty unable to cope or solve simple routine problems.

My wife and I aren't able to have kids, and at this point we're embracing the DINK (I just learned this term last month) lifestyle. Fertility treatments aren't really an option for us for reasons I'm not going to get into. We were foster parents for a while but God damn that was hard on us and our families, and we have an excellent support system. We also had a real count of a DCFS worker assigned to us, which only made it harder. We considered adoption, but the costs of doing so made us both feel like we were gonna be buying a kid, and really turned us off from the idea. We may try fostering older kids when we're a bit older, but that's not set in stone. We aren't DINKs because of the reasons mentioned in the OP, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy our current lifestyle. We live in a modest home, much cheaper than we could afford, drive sub $50k vehicles, but we travel frequently and enjoy going to concerts and events, nice meals out once a week, charitable donations, and putting extra money away in retirement accounts and investments so we don't have to work until we die.

This is total bullshite. Sure houses were cheaper as was everything else 40 years ago, but annual household income of $30k was considered "middle class". And interest rates were double digits. The cost of college certainly has outpaced inflation, so consider finishing college before having kids. That's different from saying "I don't want kids because it is too expensive". I will flip it around on you- "I don't want to go to college because it is too expensive".

birth control has royally effed up so many women's bodies that they can't get pregnant later in life without spending a crap ton of money. Who would have thought giving hormones unnaturally would impact the endocrine system responsible for healthy hormone production?

Birth control has been around for a very long time now. In fact, older versions (that I took) were stronger versions than what is used now. It truly hasn't "royally effed up so many women's bodies."
