I'll post a pic but the stair guys were 10/10. 4k including materials, 3 days of HARD carpentry, trim, risers, installing new stringers, replacing the entire landing between the flights including subflooring, staining to match our flooring and finishing the caps of the landing. the existing stringers weren't even level and the shitty 1970s 2x4 they originally used made every stair height different. On one occasion I tripped on one of the stairs and threw red spaghetti sauce all over the top landing and walls. That's when I was fed up.

7am-7pm for 3 solid days and I can't believe I ever considered doing this myself. I thought it was just about buying 12 treads and nailing them down.

TL;Dr I will absolutely recommend these guys to anyone in middle tn who needs stair renovation.

Eta the only thing they didn't do was caulk and paint because we're going to take care of that at the end and I'm waiting on the metal guys to come take final measurements and fabricate the new railings.

For a contractor, word of mouth is the absolute best advertising you can have.

Nothing like a satisfied customer giving the work crew kudos for a great job.

Stairs can be curiously challenging to finish out. Almost like its a piece of furniture but is also built into the house. In some regions, stairs are treated as a separate trade.

were the landings small?

we are looking at a 1970s era house with almost the exact stairs (same railing and bottom landing) and the landings are so small even my 11 year old commented on having to walk on her tip toes
