Do not need to be announcing.

Ok but the lsu radio booth probably wouldn’t know that. It’s not like mid-inning defensive swaps are super common

I assume just getting a stonger arm in there for a sac fly scenario. I honestly was expecting them to pull an outfielder and put in a 5th infielder or something and play for the double play, which Tommy hits into a whole bunch. With a guy like Tommy, he doesn't hit a lot of shallow fly balls. If he hits the ball in the air, it usually goes a long way and the fielder wouldn't have a chance to throw home anyways. I have seen that move work a select few times in baseball.

Cmon man. Common sense.

context would suggest that they are bringing someone in to try and throw out a runner at home.

Didn’t one of them play baseball for lsu? Lol

What I couldn’t figure was why the CF was playing so shallow with two outs. Deep fly doesn’t beat you - maybe trying to cut off a single ?

It would, but again, that’s not very common. I’m sure they were wondering if they missed an injury.

Blair and Doug went straight for the explanation they were going to bring him in to pitch in a second move, despite him not being a pitcher. It was bizarre.

The centerfielder was playing that shallow most of this game and yesterday. Think he just plays a shallow center

I have no idea why they couldn’t use their context clues in order to figure out what was going on. I don’t have 1% of the info they have at their disposal, and I knew what he was coming in for.
