Why not? I did it with a black lab that was completely useless as a retriever. The owner was going to kill the dog, but I offered to take her; she made a wonderful pet for 10 years until she died of cancer.

This was a house pet that pissed her off because it wasn't a good hunting dog and she was embarrassed when she tried to take it on a hunt without training.

And now you know.....the REST of the story. Knot headed dog had to be put down before it bit kids. Very easy call.

You would think at some point people would learn to wait for the whole story, but they never do. It's a sad state of affairs we are in.

So totally justified in putting the dog down
Can't have a dog running around killing chickens/farm animals or trying to bite people
