Breaking away from BR is great and all.... But I think it's delusional to think they're magically going to have good public schools. The quality students they need aren't going to get pulled out of St Jude & St George to go to these public schools and the elements that make EBR public schools bad are going to fill their schools up. Nothing more American than determining the future of your government, but this school experiment is going to be a cluster with little improvement.

If you don’t start somewhere you never start. So I guess everyone should just bend the knee to the F minus shitshow of EBR school system?

No one "broke away". An unincorporated area formed a new city.

as mentioned, there was no "breakaway"....you can't breakaway from something you've never been a part of...It's amazing how many people can't comprehend this
as for having good public schools, there certainly will be a non-neglible amount of students who leave private schools for the public ones if they improve...I have quite a few familiy members in the private school system (teacher, principal, admin) so am well aware of how many students are there not necessarily for the religious reasons, but for lack of better alternatives and whose parents are stretched financially...if you give them a cheaper/free alternative they will take it
but even regardless of how many that is, having good public schools is less about going get "quality" students as much as it is about removing the dysfunctional element (both students and admin) that holds back educating the students they already have...the "better" teachers will flee the EBR schools in droves to work in "better" schools in SG
