You think we're at a crossroads?

What about the Lakers?

Despite having Lebron, Davis they have been in the play-in just about every year and clearly can't beat Denver.

Dinky was probably right in hindsight. They should have intentionally lost our game. I think they can beat almost anyone in the West other than Denver.

But this year, they were relatively healthy and still couldn't get into the top 6.

Lebron will be a year older. Ruffles will no way stay healthy two years in a row.

Russell is the epitome of hot and cold and is probably gone.

Could next year be the year the wheel completely fall off? Or will they somehow get some team to bail them out again this offseason?

I'm not even sure what that would look like?

For our sake, I think we hope they run it back again and one of Lebron/AD picks up a major injury.

The west is going to be loaded next year and any major injury to Lebron or AD puts that last laker pick into the top 10 of next years draft.

Lebron pulled out the "It's just basketball" last night. I can't see him walking away and leaving $50 million on the table, but I think he has come to the realization that he needs a lot more help than he's getting in Los Angeles. It probably wouldn't hurt to go back East either.

If Russell walks they don't really have a way to replace him, outside of the TPE.

Are they really going to throw away their future (1st round picks in 27, 29, and 31) to attempt to win a championship with a 40 year old LeBron that can't get out of the play-in with a healthy AD next to him?

LeBron is going to opt-out and go somewhere else. Whoever decides to draft and stash Bronny is going to get him. It'll be arranged before the draft. The Lakers are about to rebuild again.

They aren't that good. They are a play in team that will most likely get swept in the first round. They weren't going to beat anybody but us. They're not a good basketball team.

Yep...could have easily tanked that last game vs Pels by claiming AD's back injury at end of previous game with us was acting up. Let him start...then limp out very early with back problem. Would probably get VERY little bad press..."AD tried to go...just couldn't do it...maybe he'll be good to go in a coupla days...bring on the Thunder" (And then they could worry about the Nuggets AFTER the Nuggets have played a couple of hopefully 7-game series)

I don't think the Lakers run it back. They've seen their peak. Unless there is some big named free Agent they can lure in, they can't possibly make their team good enough to contend for a championship.
I think they try to move LeBron to another team trying to contend. Possibly something like LeBron to the Warriors for Klay, Kuminga, and picks.
