Bowers is awesome
But he wasn’t a freak in terms of actually measurements and testing.
6’4, 240 lbs, 4.5. The average forty for a tight end in the 2023 NFL Draft was 4.75.
How many guys can legitimately play RB, TE, and WR at the NFL level?

Idk. But I know Brock Bowers isn’t in that category

Who would you say could legitimately play RB, TE, and WR better than Bowers?
Posted on 4/26/24 at 8:06 am to Jon Ham
That’s where you’re mistaken, I wouldn’t say anyone because it’s not something that make sense in reality

I'm convinced sean Payton just wants to get fired.

Mel said he didn’t like Dallas Turner all that much bc of his sack production.
Mfer had 8.5 sacks his freshman year and 10 his junior year.
And Golding had him dropping in coverage and never really put him and Will Anderson in consistent position to load up on sacks(which they did anyways). And he seems EXCELLENT against the run with ridiculous feel for it. And he’s very willing to get in there and defend against it.
Just seemed like a woefully lazy take for an early first round pick that came from a high profile college. AND the guy was a bit chubby and soft coming into Alabama and seems to be peaking physically with some more room to grow. And already dominated the combine.
Just seemed like a wtf take from Mel.

It doesn’t make sense because it would take a freakish athlete with a particular set of skills to even consider it. Someone like Bowers.
Point made.

Mike Alstott was 6’1 and ran a 4.6+ 40.
Bowers’ 40 time is similar to Peyton Hillis who was like the inverse of Bowers - a RB with receiving skills. Hillis put up over 1,000 rushing yard in one season.
But no, no way could Bowers play RB!
Yeah, we’ve seen Bowers exhibit elite ball skills and pull away from secondaries with his YAC, but no way could he play WR! No, he can only play TE who sometimes lines up like a WR.
LOL

I personally want Coleman. But I just think they are going Mitchell.
There’s a zero chance the Bills passed on a WR that they liked above the remaining WRs
They likely had Worthy and Mitchell in the same tier. You have to think Carolina tipped them off to who they were targeting with the pick
The Bills are going to be in cap hell with Allen’s contract sooner than later and they need as many day 2 and early day 3 picks that they can muster.
I’m hoping they find a way to get Aiyuk or Higgins in a trade. Higgins doesn’t seem likely with the Bengals not going WR.

Um, the Panthers drafted Legette not the Bills. OP made an error
I feel horrible for Legette. Do the panthers have the O Line to allow Young to develop?
Also, if the bulls get McConkey and the other receiver from UTx, the picks will be nice.

Coleman never looked slow against LSU….
To be fair, our defense made everyone look fast.

The fact that his own teammate sent that is awesome.

The Saints select an offensive lineman. I hope that didn't kill any suspense
They selected an obscure offensive lineman hardly anyone has heard of who they probably could have gotten in the third round ... again.

For teams with depleted rosters in specific situations its not as important as getting more picks, no.
Why did the Panthers trade up a spot for a guy they likely get anyway? Couldn't be because they wanted an extra year of control... no way.

He didn't really separate well in college either, which usually doesn't translate.

More likely because the Pats were also reportedly trying to trade up for Leggette in front of them
Teams trade up for players, not fifth year options

They were able to get a pick 38 spots better

who they probably could have gotten in the third round
PFF had him at 14 in their prospect rankings
Fox had him at 15
CBS had him at 12
Pro Football Network at 11
Basically, everywhere I looked had him ranked as a top 15 prospect prior to the draft. Just because you nor I had never heard of him before last night doesn’t mean he wasn’t really good.
I know OSU has had stellar rushing attacks the last 2 seasons and when listening to CFB podcasts the hosts and analysts talk about how solid and physical their O Line has been.
