Best way to get rid of poison ivy? I have some in my backyard that has always been there behind my fence but now it’s starting to creep thru the fence. Anybody got any recommendations?

Ditto Round Up, but if the plants behind your fence have been there for years, there will be an extensive network of buried roots resprouting for a long time. Just keep spraying as long as sprouts reappear.

Triclopyr. Dont let it get on trees. It works well on woody plants and poison ivy.

I have cut large stems and painted with full strenght roundup.

You just have to be careful not to get that black juice on you.

I got all smug on this board last year bragging about how I never had to worry any poison ivy again with my small manicured yard....

... Then we freaking moved again and I'm back in the wild with ticks, chiggers and poison ivy everywhere I go.

String trimming it with sunglasses on the other day then the sun went behind a cloud and I took them off and immediately 'won' a fleck of poison ivy hitting my eye lid so I've been dealing with a big red welp next to my eye for the last week.

Never brag.

Round Up Poison Ivy

It only kills the runners but you will have to routinely visually check the area once per week for new runners popping up. I've been fighting this battle for 5 years now on the part of my property that backs up to the woods. I'll snipe the new leaves that pop up every time within a day or two of them popping up but theres always new ones showing up a week or so later.
