The market for EV's just aren't that big. They aren't selling many of these Lightnings. The Hummer EV and Silverado EV aren't popular either.

Ford reopened the order books for the 2024 F-150 Lightning, allowing customers to buy the electric pickup once more—this time with lower prices for three trims. Pricing for three of the Lightning's five trims has been reduced, while the base Pro and top-trim Platinum hold their original prices.
The Flash model, which is new for 2024, earns the most significant price reduction of $5500 and drops from $75,590 to $70,090. Pricing changes for the XLT and Lariat models are smaller, but not insignificant. The XLT now starts at $65,090, and the extended-range battery-equipped Lariat now starts at $79,090.

What good is a truck you can't haul with, can't go long distances with? Basically you can haul smaller things around town.
It's just not versatile

Still way over priced for a truck.

Not that you’re wrong but most guys I know with trucks don’t even haul things around town. They just have one.

When the situation arises they have the ability to haul and go long distances, the Ford Lightning is like buying a sports car but it's slow and handles like shite.

Imagine being stupid enough to pay $70K for a truck that can only go about 350 miles empty and half that if pulling a trailer.

I don't know if I'd look at one if they cut that price in half

At 40k or so I would buy one but I dont tow anything, just occasionally use bed for hauling shite
Never take truck out of town so an EV wouldnt be a bad deal for me but I aint paying more than ICE

If you plan to keep a truck for more than 3yr/36K stay TF away. This crap will be a nightmare to own long-term.

I don't tow a lot either, but I use the bed quite often. My wife drives a sedan, so we travel in my truck too.
I don't have a great place to charge it either because I don't park in the garage. EVs just aren't really appealing to me. My wife could probably drive one, but she doesn't want to.

You could haul one out to the range and use it as a target. That's all it's good for.

No argument there and you can own whatever you like. I'm not saying you can't... but outside of a city with good EV infrastructure, it doesn't really make sense.

Yeah I’m sure that’s gonna make a difference

I wonder what the prices would be if the government just let these manufacturers build what people want rather than force them to supply vehicles to meet all of these emission and mpg mandates.

wonder how much it would cost to do a V8 swap on one of those

I agree the truck is too expensive, but for just a weekend warrior diy wood worker, it would be perfect for me. Go to work, less than 50 miles and haul some wood or some stuff from Lowes/Home Depot back to my house on a weekend. I honestly would love to have one but I just cannot justify paying 70k+ for a truck. With Bidenomics (gas prices plus inflation), it would probably be a wash on operational cost electric versus gas.
I have a Honda van for long trips with the family. It is nice little 4 cyl deal that gets great gas mileage and has plenty of room.

Add another zero and then I’ll be interested. Will be fun to destroy in the backyard.

The price would be zero because this truck would not exist without governmental influence.
