Out of all the homers we've hit this season, how many were solo? We can't get anyone on base for RBI opportunities. When they do get on base, we just strikeout.

15ft less at center calculates out to a lot of sq.ft.

Jared Jones has 11 home runs against non SEC teams and 4 home runs and god knows how many strikeouts against SEC competition….

Don't be a dumbass. Travinski is one of our most consistent players b/t conference and non-conference games.
SEC Play
.296 BA (16 for 54)
4 HRs (1 per 13.5 ABs)
Non SEC Play
.315 BA (24 for 76)
6HRs (1 per 12.7 ABs)
Combined
.308 BA
10 HRs (1 per 13 ABs)

Well yes. God and anyone that knows how to use the internet. He's striking out every 3.12 ABs on the season, but every 2.54 ABs for SEC play (3.78 ABs in non-conference).

I don't know why people continue to complain about Jones. He's one of the few guys who have shown significant improvement. He struck out 69 times in 198 plate appearances last year (34.8%). This year he's struck out 41 times in 163 plate appearances (25.2%). That's a pretty significant drop year over year. He is what he is, but he's absolutely improved as a player and with his approach at the plate
It's like people totally forget Travinski used to be a K machine.
2020: 7 Ks in 17 PAs (42.2%)
2021: 19 Ks in 58 PAs (32.8%)
2022: 24 Ks in 73 PAs (32.9%)
It took until his 4th year in the program for those K numbers to drop to a reasonable level

I am ok with him being the only starter coming back besides Larson and Milam. All the others that can come back at the rate they are playing right now shouldn't. Jay is going to hit the portal hard and some guys will lose scholarships.

This is more evidence the problem isn't talent but confidence.
These guys need to get their mental head game fixed for conference series.

Jones has been a big surprise at 1b defensively too. He’s been pretty good for first year starting there.

Jones is hitting the draft this summer.

This team is screwed without Jones

I know Tommy is NOT our problem, but a sub.400 OBP is concerning

True, but square feet has nothing to do with whether a ball is going out or not. That matters to the guy cutting the outfield grass but not to the guy who hit a deep fly ball. It’s just linear feet that matters. At LSU, a ball hit 10 feet short of the centerfield fence is a HR at Tennessee.

The state of the team per Jay: So close but yet so far.

He has never been a guy to walk a lot. His OBP last year was only .432 with a .374 BA. His BB% was only 7.54%. His BB% this year is actually higher at 11.24%. The difference is his batting average currently is .333 compared to .374 last year. He doesn't have near the protection in the lineup so he's not seeing as many good pitches to hit.
I honestly don't hate it. Tommy walking and hoping someone behind him drives him in hasn't exactly been a high percentage thing for us this year
