Im trying to lose weight and keep my protein intake high. I eat a lot of ground turkey and grilled tilapia. I usually eat those with steamed broccoli and brown rice.

Is it better to eat smaller meals than 1 big meal? Ill usually eat the whole package (1 lb) of turkey or up to 4 tilapia fillets at a time. Should i break those up into 2 meals?

Im 290, 6 foot 5 and a former powerlifter. I have a large frame. My cholesterol numbers are very good. Im worried that the large portions will have a negative effect on my overall health. Im lifting hard and walking a lot. Its causing me to be very hungry

Unless you're trying to drop below 10% bf where meal timing gets important I don't think it really matters as long as your calories are where they need to be at.

This is why I opt to split mine into smaller meals. If I try to go from lunch to dinner without anything in between I end up losing control and snacking on anything I can get my hands on.

I eat breakfast at 730, first lunch at 1030, post workout shake at 1230, second lunch at 2, and dinner at 630 or 7. Am normally in bed at 8 so it doesn't give me very much time to get bored and hungry.

Large portions make it harder to maintain a caloric deficit over time.

One of the great benefits of fasting is that it “shrinks your stomach” and makes it easier to get by with less.

The winning weight loss combo for me is

Intermittent fasting + Whole Foods + modest portions + heavy weights 5-6 days per week.

The toughest part isn’t losing or gaining weight, it’s maintaining.

I’ve heard it’s good to fluctuate between a 5 pound weight window.
