Okay. Fair enough. But they are pirates. That is clear from episode 1. And pirates are not good people.

S3 and 4 changed writers and it’s very obvious. The events coming to a head and the two main characters journey is well worth the watch but the writing and story telling drops off quite a bit after S2.

I found it to be like a pirate version of Survivor. Yes I know that’s a shallow take

A few EP4-6 takeaways.

Randall Poor Randall. I don't know if I would have rather been crushed by the ship like Morley or have my leg chopped off with a butcher knife. That was brutal.

Rackham could probably do a better job at negotiating. The brothel keep lady was getting 3% but wanted a raise to keep her mouth shut because she obviously realized it was a forged document and Noonan was deal. But Jack immediately jumps her percentage up to 40%. Not a bad raise.

Although episode 6 is about when Rackham started to become a favorite of mine on my first watch. I just really like him and Anne's dynamic.

Rackham is great and really all of the characters are superb. I think that above everything else is what makes the show so good. In some shows you have scenes with peripheral characters that are boring and inconsequential but everyone in this show has a really good individual story and every character plays a key role overall.

I disagree. This is my first time watching and I'm almost finished. S3/4 are my favorites. I thought the writing was just as good if not better.

I just finished it yesterday. I think Season 2 was my favorite. I like them all but 2 was excellent.

Spoilers (sorta)

Im OK with the ending but not having one of the guys on a ship sailing away into the horizon with some very dramatic music was just a missed opportunity

just starting season 4. Won't add any spoilers.

But, unlike a lot of shows I think this one actually gets better each season.

Dialogue became way too soapy and the storylines for Eleanor, Madi, Billy and Max were sloppy and contrived. There’s a couple of other things we can discuss and I’ll go into more detail once everyone’s finished watching.

This is my first watch and I’m just starting season 2. I think they will have missed an opportunity if at some point Randall isn’t peg-legged captaining his own ship.

S1 has a lot of slow episodes which is why people have to say "stick with it."

2 is a lot of flashback learning about Flint's backstory.

3 and 4 are finally putting a lot of things together.

i can't say it's good or better, but the plotline for current events move along more fluidly.

Alright so we're at three of us keeping schedule

Glad you enjoyed it

I'm actually starting to take a few notes during each episode now so I can have a little bit more to talk about with each episode. I can't depend on my terrible memory.

Yep. We're discussing up to episode 6 right now and discussion on episodes 7-9 will start on Wednesday. I've only been able to watch through episode 7 myself. Opening scene with Rackham in episode 7 had me cracking up.
