Do we get them all and convert 1 to LB?

Berry and Simon seem to be elite RBs. Would really like to land both but it seems Simon is really enjoying the recruiting game. Going to Texas soon.

Lindsey may not be in the elite category but he a stud right now and a great addition to the class.

Ford is the most likely to me to be converted to a LB. Which in the grand scheme of things if you’re good enough to do it why wouldn’t you. RBs make. O money in the league and have a short career for the most parts.

Simon is a 100% a take if we wants in and we want him badly.

I think we take 3 since we only took one last year

I don’t think the kid from Opelousas has a committable offer

In 1992 LSU signed 5 running backs:

Robert Davis
Jay Johnson
Artie Moore
Robert Toomer
David Butler

Butler had some success as a DB, but the other 4 were basically busts.

He’s an elite pass catcher and blocker. Finishes run, has speed, tough. He will be a great Tigah.

Man I really think Ford is going to be a really good college football player if he’ll switch to lb and concentrate on that for a year or two. He’s an impressive athlete with rare strength and speed.

Why would we do this when we could just recruit a LB? Just because devin white was a RB once upon a time doesn't mean it's a good team-building strategy to recruit RBs to play LB.

If you're a mid- or lower-tier P5 team for whom bluechip recruits are largely inaccessible and you have to hang your hat on scouting and long-term development (e.g. a program like wisconsin or iowa or iowa state), then maybe this would be a viable strategy on occasion, but when you're LSU and the #1 recruiting class in the country is a realistic goal, it makes way more sense to just recruit really good LBs.

In the past three classes (2024, 2023, 2022), we've signed a total of five 4* LBs and one 5* LB. We have two more 4* LBs committed in the 2025 class. Our LB recruiting has been well above the level at which you start realistically thinking about signing an extra RB to beef up the LB room.
