Asian massage parlor memes have existed as long as I've been alive, and the meme existed as far back as the mid-19th century during the Railroad/Western expansion, when Chinese immigrants flooded the West Coast.

None of this is new.

*ETA: also like I said, It's almost a guarantee the peak of this stuff was in the mid-80s to mid-90s, like all other social pathologies (violent crime, teen pregnancy, abortions, etc.). That was the worst time in American history in terms of social pathology and immorality. Pretty much everything peaked then.
