Mid-20s gals will hunt you down if you're in good shape and don't act like the video game playing nerds their age.

This is 2024, not the 1990s. Video games are mainstream and accepted as cool now. It’s not just a nerdy dork activity anymore.

My 28-year old brother and his friends all play video games, and their wives are perfectly happy and ok with it.

No shite. All the younger women I meet in late 20's say guys their age don't want to frick. They aren't interested. That's where the in shape 40 year old baws come in and swoop them up.

Listen, I am late 40s, in very good shape, have lived an interesting life, and I casually date early- and mid-20s chicks all the time. Not because I seek them out, but because THEY make the move. (I prefer less of a generational gap, but I'm not a dumbass - they're young and hot, so I'm not turning them down.)

I'm pretty blunt, so I always ask them why they're dating "an old guy like me", "a guy old enough to be their dad", etc. It's part of the interview, primary research if you will.

The answer is always, ALWAYS, the same. Some variant of "guys our age are douchebags; all they want to do is get drunk/high and play video games." Every single time.

You can quibble over video games specifically if you want, but at a minimum, it's a proxy for Peter Pan Syndrome - guys who won't grow up and act like men.

(They don't in the bedroom either, but that's a different conversation.)
