As my mom stated, most black people figured that OJ may have been guilty at the time. But after the Rodney King trial, they just wanted a victory real bad at the time. People were already gearing up to riot. She watched the trial and was convinced he was guilty, but she couldn't help but celebrate also. Kind of fricked up in hindsight.

The way I see it, from Rodney King to OJ connection, 2 wrongs do not make a right.

I’ve always believed this, but thank you for confirming.

I was doing my student teaching at a high school that was about 50/50 racially when the trial took place. On the day of the verdict, every television in the school was tuned in. When not guilty was announced, EVERY black student was cheering, yelling, and jumping around. EVERY white student just remained in their seats with a stunned, incredulous expression on their faces. One of the most unique social phenomenons I’ve ever witnessed.
