He said that he didn't see the 10 Commandments as being specific to any religion. He didnt mention sects of Christianity just religion.That is absurd imo but I was trying to understand his perspective

correct, but for the common person, if you ask them "what religion" they are, most will say Catholic, or Baptist, etc.
But even saying Christianity doesn't encompass all religions that follow the Commandments.
Judaism is not a Christian sect, but still follow them.

hell, even the Quran mentions the commandments.


so he's correct in saying that they are not for any one specific religion.
