In a heavy downpour you can’t always see the vehicle in front of you, so hazards help with that.

Also, taillights are not hazards, so it should not be confusing. Red Break lights indicate stopping while Yellow hazards indicate slower driving and caution, or low visibility.

They are BRAKE lights. Not BREAK.

Unless you BREAK your BRAKE lights in which case they are BROKEN.

Are you not aware that on a lot of vehicles, the rear brake lights, turn signals, & hazards are all the same light?

My vehicle is 1 of those

ETA: and hazards flashing has priority over use of turn signal or showing braking

No, taillights help with that.

I'm aware of the difference, there is no confusion Sherlock. I said taillights are easier to see in a down pour than hazards. You think you're helping with hazards but you're not.
