Their are better options for sure, but what are you considering trading? They are fairly accurate and have a solid trigger pull. I've never owned one but if the trade was decent I'd go for it. I know several guys that use them as EDCs and are good with it. They're fairly cheap so just make sure you do some pricing research to know their worth.

I have an EC9S which is pretty much the same gun with a cheaper finish and sights machined into the slide instead of removable.
I bought it in 2019 and I think I paid under $200 for it. I shoot it 30 or 40 times per year, should probably up that a good bit. I've never had a problem with it. I carry it with a Vedder light tuck and it's pretty comfortable to wear. When at work there are a lot of times that I have to leave it in my truck so I don't want to be carrying something more pricey. I know, a truck isn't a holster or whatever.
I'm pretty happy with it for the price. I clean it monthly whether I shoot or not so IDK how it runs dirty.

I have a LC9 and wife has LC9S. MUCH MUCH better trigger on the striker fired. I'm fairly satisfied with it, for what it is, and what it costs.
Solid small carry with decent trigger and accuracy. She shoots it well.
Not sexy but quite functional. Does have a safety, that might be a deal breaker for some but hasnt' been an issue.

Wife has one. She likes it okay. It’s a bit small and snappy. She wants to get a P365.

1st gen was my least favorite pistol ever. Never had any of the newer ones. I had a 2nd gen lcp which made a good little tiny pocket gun but .380 is not everyones favorite it was crazy accurate for short self defense lengths but snappy (so was the lc9). The old SR9C is larger but a tank and I'll never forgive myself for getting rid of my p95, not a classic but was a great truck gun.
TLDR Just get a 365 or HK or Glock or something I wouldnt bother with the lc9 just my .02 cents, and I love rugers.

I've got one that is horrible to shoot. Meaning the trigger is horrible especially for a gun that size. But I just look at it for what it is. A cheap gun that throws bullets at my threat. In that situation, I won't be judging trigger pull or fun, just getting them off me. I also don't feel bad about wearing it to work or in dirty situations.
But I'm cheap and don't have many show pieces or guns I'm proud of. My main goal of a gun is moving lead. Or honestly the thought of moving lead now that it went from rare to just expensive.

Been my ankle carry for over 10 years. Great gun. No problems. Single stack, so very concealable.
