Violent crime has massively decreased 75% since 80s/90s. Look it up. FBI data. That time was 4x as dangerous as today. There's just endless media, internet, and phones today, so everything and anything gets caputred. In 1988, there's no way you'd ever hear about an arrest made in Montana down in Louisiana or get the videos you see today of random societal crimes. OT isn't smart enough to think about this, so they Boomer default to "Back in muhr day was betta".
