Check connections. My Mom's did this last summer and after spending hours trying to figure it out, it ended up being a simple loose switch connection under the seat.

Will try. Ive been thinking it has to be something simple. Checked the fuse. I have a five year protection plan from Lowe's. Can't find the receipt.

Not the solenoid. It has spark. Everything is going but just won't start. I sprayed a little starting fluid in the carburetor and it started for a second and died.

It is a fuel issue. 95% chance the carb needs to be cleaned. Just for giggles make sure your air filter isn’t clogged too.

Carb is clogged. Most likely the jet unless the float valve is stuck.

Bought a complete tune up kit. Put new carburetor on it. It's getting gas to the carburetor.

The old air filter was fairly new but bought a new one just in case. I have about ten acres that needs mowed. And with three days of rain that is about to hit, going to be like a jungle soon.

One other thing. It started fine and after a hundred yards in, it just died.

I was in the hospital this past winter and the old gas didn't get taken out. I emptied the old gas yesterday and put fresh gas in. But just hoping the old gas didn't screw the engine up.

Fuel/air mixture isn’t set right. There’s likely a YouTube video that will show you how to set it for your model mower.

Engine should be fine but that old gas could’ve gunked up your new carburetor or lines

Does it have a wire that's attached to a solenoid on the bottom of the carb?

I had this problem and it was a bad fuel solenoid under the carb.

The solenoid is by the battery. There is a connection to the float that goes to the carb.

Same here. One time the wire was corroded, other time it failed. Ended up bypassing it like the seat and parking brake switches.

I made sure to put fresh gas in before changing the carburetor.

It won't turn over.

Changed spark plugs, filters, carburetor, fuel pump and fresh gas.

None of these are possible fixes to an engine that won’t turn over by the way.
