Baton Rouge feels like the Red Sea sometimes where all the worst weather goes west, east, north, and south. Seems like that happens a lot. Knock on wood for today.
Best part is that people get upset they missed it.

WTF is a “Catastrophic Storm Warning”? That’s the words used by NWS about this thing moving into Pointe Coupee and West Baton Rouge.

There’s a school closings thread you can discuss this in. No one here can do anything about school closings.

Because I could have made the decision to not bring them to school early this morning if the weather was bad and then brought them when it passed? Its going to be sunny this afternoon and all those kids that couldn't go to school all day will be at the ballpark this evening

This means you need to find serious shelter ASAP. Straight line winds equivalent to a F2 per Weather Underground

Areas near and north of Baton Rouge should treat this bowing line of storms and its wind damage potential like a Tornado Warning. Widespread damage expected along its path.

That's a nasty bow echo. If you're in the path, don't mess with it.

The CBD needs to be ready. That Golden Meadow Cell has broad area of rotation and will be knocking on the door soon.
