Can 3-D viewers be used to look at the eclipse?

I was supposed to bring some glasses for everyone at the office to look at the eclipse but everywhere is sold out this morning. Fortunately, I found a box of unused 3D glasses. Will they tell the difference?

Can you use 3-D glasses to see the eclipse? Sure. You’ll be able to see it great. You won’t be able to see anything else after that though. But you’ll definitely be able to see the eclipse.

I really hope this is a joke.
If not, news this week will be all about folks who blinded themselves. Local news is probably even salivating over it.

If you live in the Shreveport area Sci-Port has them, if not call around to your local planetariums.

Just wear sunglasses

Not sure about 3d glasses. But I'm doing the tinfoil ring around the head while viewing. You can actually receive perfectly clear radio signals with it.

You’ll be able to see the eclipse in 3D so there’s that.

You can give them to other people to use and then not use them yourself.

They'll do fine if you don't have any magnifying glasses.
