What a crazy thread. No, your friends are idiots and don’t know what they are talking about. Buy an ar, put lights on it and it is way more effective than your edc. I literally can’t think if a reason why I would have a light on an edc, unless I was back overseas. Some of these people will call a car pistol an edc but I have a Glock 17 in my car holster and I carry a 19… different game I guess

I mean my 28 nosler is more effective, considering I could eliminate the “threat” from a long, long ways away, but it’s not really a viable concealed carry weapon.
One of my friends that I talked to is a marine veteran, which doesn’t make him automatically an expert, but I figure he has more experience than I do. I just wanted a few more opinions on it before I go out and buy a light. I’m not concealing an AR though lol

I'd love to have one on mine, if it wouldn't cost so much and ruin holster availability.
I was listing to a podcast a few years ago and the interview subject was an accomplished competition shooter. He mentioned that the scores of whatever kind of handgun match he shot very noticeably clicked up across the board when they started allowing lights on pistols. The extra weight out front helps a lot.
I dont see where a light is ever a bad idea if you can figure out how to tote it.
