I’d say that helps him check the a-hole box.

From msn.com
...explained Owens.

In a recent interview, Shapiro mentioned that he was frustrated with Owens hardheadedness on the Israel/Palestine issue. I assume he was alluding to that conversation about the Muslim quarter, and Owens refusing to understand that Muslims aren't enslaved in a specific neighborhood. I watched the video clip of Owens talking about this with the Israeli guest, and it was pretty clear that Owens misunderstood the tour guide (for whom English was likely a second language), or, something got lost in translation. Owens absolutely refused to acknowledge this possibility.

Shapiro also mentioned that the spat wasn't simply over a disagreement about Israel, as him and Matt Walsh disagree on that as well. I understood this to mean that Owens commentary transcends a general anti war position and into antisemitism. Which, given all I've heard and seen from Owens, is completely believable.

The Shapiro COVID/vax thing needs to be put in perspective.

when the vax first came out, we were told it was 95% effective.

True, but how did so many people know to be suspicious of it yet he didn't? His wife is a doctor. That household knew the history of vaccines and how difficult they are to make and how often there are problems when they are first rolled out. Also, the most recent vax prior to covid (yellow fever maybe?) that had used machine learning and all the latest tech had serious problems despite years of development, yet this one was produced in a few months and it's fully endorsed? The red flags were everywhere and he missed all of them. That is really strange for a guy with such a high IQ.

quote:

Finally, and most importantly, Shapiro was living in Los Angeles at the time; a city with the most restrictive COVID policies anywhere in the US. At the time, we (citizens of LA) pretty much had no choice but to get the vaccine.

I understand, however, Shapiro was calling out the people that were against it. I mean, he called people idiots and worse, if I remember correctly. I think that is the issue most salient, rather than his residency at the time.

quote:

Hindsight is 20/20 and Shapiro has admitted he was wrong. There's no reason to hold it against him now.

You are probably correct but for me, personally, I have a very difficult time doing the forgive and forget thing from the covid era. There were so many red flags. I see things like this and I shake my head and say, 'no way'.

You may as well because the left and MAGA want people to forget and move on

Shapiro is lying because he's a liar. We all know what he's claiming but we don't believe him.

PBD is constantly bringing up conspiracies and boogymen on his show; eg. the recent at&t outage was a trial run before the election.

Stupid shite that appeals to the lowest common denominator for clicks and monetization.

They're simply anti establishment and view Owens as some beacon of freedom or free speech.

Owens Israel/Hamas view being way off base is the least troubling thing about her. Her moon landing commentary on the bill maher show is embarrassing, and the recent thing about macrons wife was bizarre.

I don't understand the recent trend of trashing true conservatives such as desantis or Shapiro in favor of grifters and loonies.

I like PBD exactly because he anti-establishment. He has liberals on all the time, it's good discourse.

I don't really enjoy Candace, she doesn't seem all that smart. That said, IF she was let go for not toeing the party line on Israel, it's weak. On that subject, here is Greenwald pimping some clip on PBD (it's actually a clip of some comedian hammering Shapiro).

@ggreenwald
Super interesting how Ben Shapiro's preaching of free discourse and the evils of cancel culture -- only to make clear
@RealCandaceO
Crossed The Line on Israel™ -- is being noticed, and denounced, in unexpected places.

Listen to the comedian
@andrewschulz
and

DW does good work in the culture wars, but it's not really my cup of tea. I guess this is the divide between old school conservatives and populists.

This is the one thing I'll give pbd credit for. He has the most diverse spectrum of guests out of all the right wing pundits (same goes for maher, he's had a ton of conservatives on his podcast including Owens and pbd).

Would it be weak if she was fired due to antisemitic (and not just anti-israel) rhetoric?

I don't consume much of her content, but someone here posted screenshots of her twitter likes on some posts that were absolutely antisemitic.

DW hasn't made any official statements or comments, but the implication has always been that she was let go for antisemitism.

Also, greenwald is pro-hamas so he can get fricked too.

I will never watch them again. I liked Michael Knowles but was incredibly disappointed with his behaviour as he betrayed CO.

Even Patrick Bet David is piling on the filth at DW.

Shapiro calls everything antisemitic. There's youtube complications of him saying it over and over and over. He's no different than AOC and others in that regard.

Do you think someone liking a tweet is a reason to fire them?
