Propane camp fires, do any actually heat you up?

Planning to do some camping out west and with wood fire bans that typically happen I was considering getting a propane fire pit of some type. But I just can't see them providing much heat. Am I wrong?

They don't in my opinion. People don't understand the heat a bed of coals is putting out.
They aren't bad with the lava rocks and such but it def not an established wood fire.
I have the Outland Living Firebowl. It does as good of job as any of them and it easy to throw around

Do you just want to sit around outside or use the fire for warmth? When it gets cold, go in your camper/tent and get warm.

Propane heaters work well. I think the heat just dissipates.
If you are talking about camping inside of state and national parks with staff, I’d be leery about a propane heater. They generally don’t like to be flexible and nice in my experience. It’s hard to hide a fire I mean, it’s likely going to call attention to you. I’d make sure to ask ahead of time unless you don’t mind the attention.

I went hunting at a customer’s place outside of Monroe and they have natural gas deposits on their property which is being mined. Well, through some redneck ingenuity, they have run a line straight from the source and have a helluva gas burner that will put out some heat. Just have to be careful as there is no additive to the gas to make it smell

Is it wood fire burn ban or open flame ban?
