James Doakes should have been the one that caught Dexter.

Not a woman that he was dating, that was also a cop. Doakes was the only one to ever see Dexter for what he was. Lundy should have seen it but wasn't around as much as Doakes was. Doakes was one of, if not my favorite character on the show. Saying that it should have been Doakes that turned Dexter in.

I agree 100% man that show started off like a banger then just fell off in the final few seasons. Such a shame. but I remember the first watch we were on pins and needles with some of the stuff he did. Good times

side note did you watch the "new season" with his kid I think it was showtime, we got through 4 or 5 episodes then lost the feed to ST

Doakes storyline was season 2 I think, so I mean it would kinda suck to have him catch dexter that early in the series lol. If you want to say doakes should have never bene killed and turned dexter in later in the series, then ok yeah maybe...but I never really hated how it played out. I think Doakes being on to Dexter and nearly catching him before finally having to be dealt with was some great drama and tension for that early in teh show.

I doubt anyone would argue with you regarding season 6-however many you want to acknowledge. I thought season 3 was perfectly fine, it's biggest downfall is that it was sandwiched between 1&2 which were both great, and 4 which was all-time elite.

Season 5 never stood a chance by folloing 4 but I thought it was decent. I think I recall that S5 ended perfectly with no real loose ends and would have been a great stopping point for the seires.

Then 6 was not too good, 7 was lousy, and 8 was insultingly awful.

You would probably prefer the books over the Showtime series.

Doakes is more of a focus.

I really hate Colin Hanks as an actor. Hate him in Band of Brothers, hate him in the Olmos season of Dexter, and generally have no clue what else he is in but would probably hate him in those things as well

I believe the shows head writer (or something like that) left after that season and it was noticeable for sure.

He also had a way better original ending planned that’s worth looking up.

He played his part very well in Orange County and that's probably his best type of role as an actor. Kind of the Ben Stiller in Along Came Polly type role.

Orange County was fantastic, he played his role and let Jack Black, Catherine O'Hara carry that movie. If he could do that role with great supporting characters in more comedies, he would probably be better off.

I actually liked S 5 better than 4 That had Julia Styles and the barrel girl gang. Like you said left no loose ends and would have been a great ending to the show.

colon hanks season 6 and that weird russian thing in 7 sucks

I dont even remember anything about 8 other than the shitty move to alaska and Dexter becoming a lumberjack ending

Are they doimg a new blood season 2? Or was that just to give fans a chance to see dexter get his end story?
