If you are still somewhat young and healthy being single/alone can be great

I just imagine it would suck when you get older and start having more health issues

maybe but this seems like a poor reason to stay partnered up when young so you hopefully have someone to either take care of or have them take care of you.


I'm hoping I just drop dead of a heart attack early enough to avoid all the sick shite.

Fortunately, I am in pretty good health but can tell you, as you get older, it does not suck. I am enjoying and embracing the single life in my mid-60's.

And I am exactly that person. 52 years old, married 25 years and we are splitting up. Do not look forward to it.
I won't mope and feel sorry for myself, but I don't look forward to it either.
