Yet Willie just stands with arms crossed. Ive seen coaches in 5 year old basketball leagues show more emotion and passion.

We have a solid center and more than enough dudes who can play small ball 5. Willie just doesn't know who to play at the 5 and when.

The problem is our dumb frick coach does not believe in Jonas. So for the second season in a row, Willie has not found a solution to the conundrum at center. And if he’s retained, Griff has to be active in getting a rim protector that Willie will play AND is a decent enough offensive threat that teams don’t just sag off like they do when Nance is in the game.

If we get another coach, I’d be fine with keeping Jonas and making other moves. Seeing us stay stagnant will watching a team like the Mavs steadily improve their roster, which was once way shittier than ours. You have to keep evolving. We’ve stayed stagnant for too long

Willie presser: “give them credit. Booker got hot.”

I can promise thats what will be said.

Honestly just get rid of Willie. Third year in the league and every game is questionable subsitutions, late adjustments, and just lack of things that an average coach would do.

Everybody will say damm Pelicans made bad move if we fire Willie. But we should. Problem is who do you hire. NBA is a retheard league. Old coaches get fired rehired.

It's maddening that some of us have had to advocate for trading Val because Willie doesn't know how to use him and mainly because we know they won't make the right call, which would be to instead replace the dude who doesn't know how to use Val and the 5 spot.

More Nance!!!

Honestly someone who is an assistant coach lifer whos an x and o guy. It doesn’t need to be a big name but a guy who can adjust and adapt quickly. We dont need a culture or communicatiin guy like Willie. We need a chris finch type guy.

Hey man, he’s still experimenting with rotations K. He will figure it out!

AD said Nance has played well and I’m like is he serious???!

I really do wonder what kind of hold Nance has on this organization?? Its asinine that bench guy is this big of an issue in our rotation.

If we miss out on a top 6 seed, there’s no way Griff retains him. Not with one of the deepest rosters we’ve ever had. I don’t care if the players start a mutiny.

I’d rather take Bud over this shite again next season

Can't even blame Larry for this game, this is all on Willie. When one guy kills you every time a good coach would come out with a different game plan not Willie just let Booker go one on one. Even the clippers blitz BI from the start the first timed we played them in NOLA this year

Ive never seen a top defense like ours that gives up these huge scoring nights to players or huge scoring quarters to teams. It makes me think its more of a matador defense meaning more smoke and mirrors- and good teams with good players can beat this defense easily. Something defensively just doesn’t make sense.

Its a severe lack of in game adjustments. Its like everything is predetermined but as soon as things get off schedule- Willie has major issues adjusting.

And that explains so many things- sticking with guys like Nance too long, going to Zion at 5 too late, i love hawkins but playing him late in this game for no reason, the weird matt ryan 4th quarter minutes, no adjustment to double or blitz hot players, being late in matching personnel with other teams. Its these same issues over and over.

Actually, I think you are right & there is a bit of "smoke & mirrors" with our overall defensive numbers. Willie does a solid job defensively with what he has to work with. Herb is obviously "elite"...the rest are average to below average...unless you want to start counting Dyson as part of our "rotation"...then we have 2.

Willie in his presser regarding Booker getting 50 on us twice- “WE WERE SOFT GUARDING HIM AND HAD A SOFT MENTALITY”

Jose is also a key part of our defense and Naji plays better with Jose.

Doubt I'd even have Jose in our playoff rotation...assuming we'd only go 8 deep or so.
