One thing not emphasized,Baylor is a christian/baptist school
I have my issues with Baylor’s leftward drift (former Baptist in TX) but my son is 17 and did a campus tour last month. They emphasize that they are diverse and have several different faiths in the student body but repeated “unapologetically Christian” and least 4 times during the tour.
Go to Duke, TCU, or Wake Forest if you want the private Christian school without the Christian part.

Where is Tate? Will he support his coach? No because the CRT/DEI he promotes will not allow it.
Have you been paying attention to Tate’s actions at all since he’s been at LSU?

That article ain’t sht, I was ready to read damning news. Nothing new, only thing I learned was her relationship with Dad is zilch. Can hold a grudge, Griner is gay, and she’s an old school hard arse Coach.
Nothing to see here.

Let’s see if he supports her or not. It’s a great opportunity for him to set his position on all of this.
The thing that I know for a fact, that you may not, is that Tate and Collis wanted Mel Tucker and did not want Kelly. That’s a fact and idgaf who wants to deny it, I know it’s the truth.
And it’s also a fact that Tate is woke as frick, which is very obvious.
And it’s also very obvious that the WaPo article was a hit piece on Kelly, AND BOS member Collis was a large part of the hit piece.
So the same “reporter” writes another hit piece on Mulkey. Is this just a coincidence? Hell no.
So put all that together and add that to whatever other “actions” you’re referring to, and if that gets you on the Tate bandwagon, you’re likely woke as well. Be blessed.

CLIFFS: Kim is a big meanie who doesn't care about players' fee-fees. And MIGHT be homophobic based on 0 acual evidence

frick off. He may be personally liberal, but he's been very businesslike as Chancellor.
I vote VERY differently, but I've had a handful of conversations with him, and he's very relatable and obviously cares about making LSU great

Not a chance, but you're likely in the "bless your heart" intellect department

Did you read the article? It is made very clear that Baylor is a Christian school.

I doubt he goes out of his way to make a statement on the article, nor should he. There’s nothing earth-shattering that is even worth commenting on, especially the majority of it focuses on her time pre-LSU. She prolly wants to it just go away and not stay in the news cycle.

He’s disbanded the building renaming committee and scrubbed DEI statements and videos from LSU’s website. That doesn’t seem “woke as frick” to me.

Kelly was barely even mentioned in the article, which was just bad journalism. It’s no coincidence that this latest once focusing on Mulkey is pretty weak. Not sure your point. Tate gave them nothing.

Nope, just not a worked-up fringe lunatic.

My general sentiment in re to Mulkey is that she’s not much different than Saban or Bobby Knight .. while i love(d) them as coaches, i doubt id want to be friends with them, or want them as part of my family … And imo there’s nothing wrong with that at all, i dont need my coaches to be awesome poeple or choirboys/girls .. Geaux Tigers .

So you think Mulkey is an a-hole? Because of her political beliefs?
No. I think she’s an a-hole because she’s an a-hole.

And, contrary to Morris’ statement.

Do you know her personally to have this opinion? Or are you basing it off 15-30 min press conferences a couple of times a week for a few months out of the year, in which she repeatedly has to defend herself and her team against criticism.
Pretty sure you would grow weary of always being on defense.

Kim Mulkey has long been college basketball’s most colorful, controversial figure. For almost as long, that has prompted a level of vitriol among the media that borders on the unprofessional.
quote:
There are plenty of male coaches with documented records of doing terrible things or being unlikeable people who have not been put under the microscope like Mulkey has.
quote:
Plenty of other coaches appear to be having rage strokes on the sidelines. Have blistered their players publicly. For them, it’s dismissed as “passion” or praised as “tough coaching.” Nothing to see here or look at further.
Yet it’s somehow fair game to detail the coach’s decades-long estrangement from her father, presenting as a sympathetic figure a man who devastated his daughter by cheating on her mother and walking out on his family, suggesting instead that it’s Mulkey who is the heartless one.
quote:
You might not like Mulkey. You might not like her players. But if you are not bothered by the public discourse that surrounds them and cannot see the sexism and racism at its root, the problem isn’t them.
It’s you.

That’s a very fair account of all this. And a reasonable opinion.

Thanks very much for sharing that. Much respect to the author.

Good article. Many coaches aren’t liked by the sporting world for various reasons. It’s part of sports.
I really see no reason for bringing up her relationship with her father other than to cause pain to CKM and her family. I don’t think that will be successful, though. They have long since moved on.
Addressing weight with players is part and parcel of all sports. Being in physical shape for whatever position is key. The WaPo guy shows his idiocy there.
